Putnam Park Autocross Weekend - Sunday May 31, 2015
Unfortunately the rain continued on Sunday morning from the previous evening and made for a cool day and wet track conditions. Because the Low Speed had run in mostly dry conditions on Saturday their 3 events were moved to the morning to give the High Speed 4 events a chance to run in better predicted conditions in the afternoon. The previous evenings downpour and wind also affected the timing cables to the point that timing could not be run from the tower.and had to be moved to a motor home by the timing lights. Once underway the conditions slowly improved from very wet to a continuous damp track. As the day progressed the times got better as the track actually got a somewhat dry line by the time the High speed were running their last events. The day's events ended before 4 with all runs being made and drizzling rain for the trip home. Many of the High speed runners commented that they were glad of the swapping to the afternoon as they got some good runs and times in and finally were able to enjoy the weekends events. The Indiana Region thanks everyone that came out to run and work over the weekend.
