Region Dine N Drive to Wallace
On Saturday June 14, a non racing weekend for the region, Rita Robison set up a Dine N Drive to the Highway 341 Cafe & Wallace Opry in Wallace IN. There was an open invitation for anyone in the region that wanted a fun evening to join in. She got a good group and here is her report of the evening:
Here are some pics from last Saturdays D & D to Wallace, we had a great turn out with 5 Region Clubs represented. I am so thrilled that members from other clubs joined in. It was a very fun night. The local patrons of the Hwy 341 Café were waiting for our arrival, they seem to really enjoy the Corvettes showing up (us, not so sure, but the cars, yes). Sherry Wilbert who is in our club was specifically asked about, and if she would be there. Yes she was coming, but arriving later with several others. We had “special entertainment” Saturday night. The “Dancing Girls” performed for us. Our little Sherry was an honorary member of the troop! What a hoot. The pics speak for themselves. This was the first time we have been treated to the “Girls” One of the regular’s at the Café is Edna, who is 92 years old. She loved Eva Yackey’s red C-7, so Eva took her for a little ride. Eva thought that since Edna is now 92, she need to do 92 mph, one for each of Edna’s years. We have a pic of Edna dancing with one of her fellow patrons. Clubs represented were Ft. Wayne, Lafayette, Hoosier, Corvette Indy, and Circle City. About 30 people made the evening..
